To improve that pen on glas feeling, you could try a screen protector called PaperLike. Pick the one giving you the best feeling and usability. My experience is that they all feel a little different when writing with them.
It has a better integration with EN, but lacks some advanced features of other apps listed above. EN has an own free app for it, called Penultimate. Other solid handwriting apps are NoteShelf, Notability and Nebo. Third they use a page style canvas, not the infinite canvas EN employs for the Sketch feature. Second they smoothen the handwriting a bit, taking a little jitter out and make hand-eye-coordination easier. It seems to be easier to recognize what is written while it happens, than just watching at the results. What do good handwriting solutions do ? First they already analyze what is written while the writing happens. If looking for handwritten notes there are better solutions, however.
