Thinking about that song this way has changed my image about it. In conclusion, it's a song that has an interesting topic and is very hard to explain. "Maybe I'll fly, with an eagle eye" - his plan is to do an aerial attack on the opposite side, but he has to keep an eye out for other planes or anything out to get him. "Maybe I'll ride, to save my life" - he thinks it over and he DOES care about his life, so he comes up with a plan to save his life. "He'll find me fighting back the terrible thwarts, 'cause I'm not afraid to die alone" - fights in the war and isn't afraid to die while doing so. "My captain on a snowy horse, is coming back to take me home" - he is waiting for God to take him home to heaven because he thinks he will die in the war. "Kamikaze over me, my midnight melody" - there's suicide bombers flying overhead, and they have to sleep like that at night. "Where cherry bombs turn the blackbirds red, and explosions never make a sound" - There's bombs, and there's blood everywhere. "The princess in her flower bed, pulled a jungle underground" - the start of a war. He says "with an Eagle Eye" I think this means that he will try to spot all the things that he thinks are right. "brave down the open road" he means to go down a path and be brave and share about God with everyone. I lie awake I have become like a bird alone on a roof." this is probably one of Adams favorite verses becaue it describes him so well.
It says: "I am like a desert owl, like an owl among the ruins. I searched "ember glow" in the Bible and came up with this verse: Psalms 102: 3 and it says: "For my days vanish like smoke my bones burn like glowing embers." I akso saw this verse a little further down: Psalms 112: 6-7. "I'm not afraid to die alone" he says he is not afraid to say what he believes and be the only one who believes it. "my captain on his snowy horse, is coming back to take me home" he is tanking about God taking him to heaven, his real home.
"and I come alive!" he is saying that he understands what is happening through God and he is suddenly back in real life. "oh comet come down!" he is saying for God to come down and help him through his life. "where cherry bombs stained the black birds red" this represents the blood of Christ. "pulled the jungle under groundl" he is refering to when man sinned for the first time. He says "the princess in her flower bed" he is talking about Eve in the Garden of Eden. This was a song that was kind of hard to interprate but what I see is thy it is a Christian song.
